All Pharmacists (work throughout the Carilion Clinic to provide Pharmaceutical Care (The direct, responsible provision of medication-related care for the purpose of achieving definite outcomes that improve a patient's quality of life) to patients of all ages.Pharmacists provide quality distributive and clinical services in a time frame that meets each individual patient's needs.All Pharmacists assume lead responsibilities for support staff and provide direction to them.Additionally, the Lead Pharmacists assumes responsibility for the coordination of professional staff.Job responsibilities involve patients of all ages.
Minimum Qualifications Required
1.Possess knowledge of many computer software programs and the integration of such.
2.The Pharmacist must be a graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
3.BS degree required, Pharmacy Residency (ASHP) or training beyond the BS degree (for example: a PharmD, MBA, or MS degree) is preferred.
Experience: Retail pharmacy experience is required.
Licensure, certification, and/orregistration: Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Other Minimum Qualifications:
1.Must be knowledgeable in many aspects of institutional pharmacy practice with the ability to know a large number of products (1000-2000) including strengths, dosage forms, indications, and precautions.
2.Work requires knowledge of general office equipment and procedures, including computer and keyboard skills.
3.Must be able to effectively budget time, work efficiently and accurately, and follow procedures with minimum supervision.
4.Must possess good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5.Lead Pharmacist must possess effective leadership skills.
All Pharmacists must complete an Orientation Competency and an Age Specific Orientation Competency.
